Rayla is a lawyer specialising in strategic tax litigation. Prior to working for the Civil Service, Rayla was employed as an in-house lawyer for a legal charity based at the Royal Courts of Justice where she provided probono legal advice and representation at the Central London County Court and High Court in a wide range of litigation disputes on behalf of litigants unable to access legal aid or afford legal representation. During her time at the charity, she worked closely with the Access to Justice Foundation successfully obtaining significant costs orders in their favour. She became a Costs Ambassador for the Foundation as a result of her work.

Rayla has completed the Civil Mediation training course and will shortly be looking to register as a mediator once she has completed her observation requirements.
In her spare time, Rayla is a member of the Metropolitan Muslim Police Forum and supports local community projects including charities with their work.
