Launch of The Independent Asylum Commission
The Independent Asylum Commission in association with Citizen Organising Foundation present:
Sir John Waite and Ifath Nawaz are pleased to announce the forthcoming launch of The Independent Asylum Commission’s Interim Findings
In the Grand Committee Chamber (off Westminster Hall) House of Commons on 27th March 2008 at 11:00
The Interim Findings represent the Commissioners’ provisional assessment of the asylum system following over a year of hearings and evidence-gathering across the UK. Later this year, the Commissioners will publish credible and workable recommendations for reform of the asylum system that will safeguard the rights of those who seek sanctuary, but also command the confidence of the British people.
There are a very limited number of spaces available to those supporters who have followed our work and these will be allocated on a first come first served basis. If you are interested in attending then please RSVP to chris@cof.org.uk and, if spaces are available, invitations will be posted to you (no more than 2 invitations per response).
For those who are unable to attend, please remember that there will also be three more regional launch events in England and launches in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland once the recommendations have been produced later this year.
The Interim Findings will be available electronically on 27th March at www.independentasylumcommission.org.uk. If you would like to receive a hard copy, please email chris@cof.org.uk with your postal address.
Thank you for your continued support.
